Circo | Circus explores Circus, Vaudeville and Sideshow performers in the United States, specifically New York City, Kentucky, and Granada, Spain. During my residency in Spain, I was fortunate to photograph the entire graduating class of Escuela Internacional De Circo Y Teatro, CAU. These students spent three years developing their characters along with immersive training in the circus arts. The images comprise many stage performers who have dedicated their lives to their craft. My investigation into these beautiful and mysterious subjects stems from my early childhood. I am fascinated with the mysterious world of costume, performance and the superhuman feats performed before my eyes. I am consistently inspired by how these individuals constantly push themselves to the limits of what they can handle and then test themselves more.
